<span style="color: #222222;">The Rajya Sabha today took up discussion on the working of Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Initiating the discussion in the House, Ram Vichar Netam of BJP &nbsp;lauded the Narendra Modi government for taking &nbsp;care of tribals and poor people of the country during Covid pandemic.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He said, after independence, it was the Narendra Modi government which &nbsp;felt the pain and problems of these tribal people and took steps for their welfare. Mr Netam said, &nbsp;now for addressing their hosing needs, pucca houses with electricity are being provided.&nbsp;</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">To ensure quality education of the children in tribal areas, Eklavya Model Residential Schools are being opened. He said, the government has also revised cost of construction of these schools from 20 crore rupees to 38 crore rupees.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi the country is moving on the path of development.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Participating in the discussion, Naranbhai J Rathwa of Congress accused the Centre for reducing the grants of Ministry of Tribal Affairs in the Union Budger 2022-23. He also alleged that in Union Budget 2022-23, the allocations for MGNREGA has also been reduced from the last year's revised budget estimates.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Abir Ranjan Biswas of TMC accused the Ministry of Tribal Affairs of not fully spending the revised budgetary allocations of 2021-22.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Kanimozhi &nbsp;NVN Somu of DMK said that in this year's Union Budget, the government has earmarked around 8 thousand 451 crore rupees for Ministry of Tribal Affairs &nbsp;which is just an increase of 12.32 per cent as compared to last year's allocation. &nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Venkataramana Rao Mopidevi of YSRCP appreciated the initiatives of the Modi government tken for the last seven years for the welfare of tribal people of the country. He demaned sanctioning of more Eklayva Model Residential Schools in blocks.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Dr V Sivadasan of CPI(M) accused the government of not addressing the issues faced by the tribal community. He said, last year, the fund allocation for Eklavya Model Residential schools was over one thousand crore rupees but it remained unutilized.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Participating in the discussion, &nbsp;M Thambidurai of DMK said that the allocation made by the government for the welfare of Tribal people are not being properly utilized.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Others Members including Vishambhar Prasad Nishad of SP, Manoj Kumar Jha of RJD, Ram Nath Thakur of JD (U), Phulo Devi Netam of Congress and Sampatiya Uikey of BJP also participated in the discussion.<br />''<br />''The discussion remained inconclusive.</span><br />
