Rajya Sabha today resumed the discussion on the working of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. Intervening in the discussion, Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju said, the government has taken historic steps for the welfare of the tribal people in the last eight years. He said, record budgetary allocation has been made in this year's Budget for the Tribal Affairs Ministry. He said, the government has also taken the decision to celebrate Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on 15th November to highlight the contribution of tribal freedom fighters.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' NCP Member Vandana Chavan said, emphasis must be given on the promotion of education among the tribal people. She also said, special efforts need to be taken to develop leadership quality among tribal people. Binoy Viswam of CPI said that allocation for the tribal affairs Ministry has been reduced in this year's Budget. Samir Oraon, Brijlal, Ramilaben Bara of BJP lauded the government initiatives for the welfare of tribals in the country. MP Suresh Gopi and BJD member Prasantha Nanda and others also participated in the discussion which is underway.<br />
