Participating in the discussion, AIADMK member S Muthukaruppan termed the budget as progressive. He said, it is for the development of the country. K Keshav Rao of TRS said Budget has failed to address the issues being faced by Indian economy like slowdown. He said the economy is in bad shape and there is a need of stimulus. He also questioned the budget on the issue of investment, consumption and employment.<br />''<br />''Binoy Viswam of CPI criticised the budget and questioned the government move to sell part of its stake in LIC. He said funds for MGNREGA have been reduced, and unemployment is rising day by day.  Veer Singh of BSP accused the government of only serving the interest of the corporate. He also said, farmers' plight is increasing day by day and government is only making promises to them. Mr. Singh also accused the government of working to abolish reservation.<br />''<br />''Kumari Selja of Congress questioned Government's economic policy, she alleged that, Haryana has been neglected in this budget. Ripun Bora of Congress questioned government's commitment related to doubling of the farmers income. He said, government should tell how long will it take.<br />''<br />''On the other hand, Rajiv Chandrasekhar of BJP said that the budget is a careful budget. He said that Narendra Modi Government has revived the economy and it will continue to make it a five trillion dollar economy.<br />''<br />''Another MP of BJP, Ashwini Vaishnav said that the government is funding the rural economy, by rural investment. He also blamed the congress party for wrong diagnose of the illness. He said, that the party has correctly identified the illness and the treatment is going on the right path.<br />''<br />''PL Punia of Congress nominated member Narendra Jadhav and others also participated in the discussion. The discussion is underway. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will reply to the discussion in the house at around 4 PM. </span><br />
