The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday (6th December 2023)resumed a short-duration discussion on the economic situation in the country. Participating in the discussion, Professor Ram Gopal Yadav of the Samajwadi Party alleged that the government is only highlighting the data related to economic growth however reality on the ground is different. He said that of the 125 countries, India stands at 111th position in the Global Hunger Index.<br />''<br />'' The SP leader also pointed out towards increasing cost of health services for the common man.<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar of TDP said that the manufacturing sector in the country is not performing well. He also said, the unemployment rate is increasing in the country. Sulata Deo of BJD, Abir Ranjan Biswas of TMC, Vivek Tankha of Congress, Nagendra Ray of BJP, Jhon Brittas of CPI(M), Priyanka Chaturvedi of Shiv Sena, Ayodhya Rami Reddy of YSRCP, Raghav Chaddha of AAP, P Winson of DMK and Mahua Maji of JMM participated in the debate among others. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar announced that the discussion will continue on Thursday (7th December 2023).</span>
