Rajya Sabha resumed, for the third day today, discussion on Commitment to India's Constitution as part of the 125th Birth Anniversary celebration of Dr B R Ambedkar. Participating in the discussion, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Independent, said Indian Constitution is one of the greatest Constitutions in the world and the people are proud of it. He said the discussion on the Constitution is uniting all political parties. <br/><br/>K C Tyagi of the JD(U) said there should a discussion on the caste system and religious conversions. He said the dream of Dr Ambedkar, the architect of the Constitution, was the uplift of the poor and downtrodden people. Derek O'Brien of the Trinamool Congress told the members that the Indian Constitution is the longest document in the world having one lakh eleven thousand three hundred sixty nine words. He asked all political parties to give preference for women candidates in the legislatures without waiting for the passage of the Women's Reservation Bill.
