The Rajya Sabha today resumed the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address to the joint sitting of Parliament. <br/><br/>Initiating the debate, AIADMK's Vijila Satyananth urged the Centre to take up the inter-linking of river Godavari with river Palar. She also claimed that manufacturers of fireworks in Tamil Nadu are not using any hazardous chemicals. She said over eight lakh families in the state are dependent on manufacturing fireworks. <br/><br/>Referring to the Health Insurance Scheme announced in the Union Budget, Vijila Satyananth said it was based on the Tamil Nadu model introduced by former Chief Minister late Jayalalithaa. <br/>The debate is continuing.
