The Rajya Sabha today resumed the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's Address to the joint sitting of Parliament when the House assembled at 2 PM after the adjournment. <br/><br/>Initiating the debate, AIADMK's Vijila Satyananth urged the Centre to take up the inter-linking of river Godavari with river Palar. She also claimed that manufacturers of fireworks in Tamil Nadu are not using any hazardous chemicals. She said over eight lakh families in the state are dependent on manufacturing fireworks. <br/><br/>Referring to the Health Insurance Scheme announced in the Union Budget, Vijila Satyananth said it was based on the Tamil Nadu model introduced by former Chief Minister late Jayalalithaa. Dilip Tirkey of BJD, Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena and La Ganeshan of BJP among those participated in the debate. <br/><br/>The discussion remained inconclusive and the House was adjourned<br/>Earlier, the Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2 PM amid Opposition uproar over Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu's rejection of their notices on various issues. <br/><br/>As soon as the House met for the day, Mr Naidu said that he had rejected the notices given by Trinamool Congress, Telugu Desam Party and Shiromani Akali Dal among others. <br/><br/>He asked them to give the notices in other forms. When Derek O" Brien of the TMC was seen displaying a paper, Mr Naidu asked him not to do so and not to mention the Governor. <br/><br/>There was instant uproar by Opposition parties forcing the adjournment of the House within minutes after it met.
