<span style="color: #222222;">The Rajya Sabha today referred the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2019 to the Select Committee for further scrutiny.<br />'' <br />'' Yesterday, during the discussion on the bill, members from the Opposition parties including Congress and others had demanded the government to send the bill to the Select Committee for wider consultation.<br />'' <br />'' The members cited loopholes in the bill including related to the definition of close relatives. Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan moved the motion to refer the bill to the Committee.<br />'' <br />'' The panel will submit its report by the last day of the first week of the next Parliament Session. &nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' The bill has the provision to constitute National Surrogacy Board, State Surrogacy Boards and appointment of appropriate authorities for regulation of the practice and process of surrogacy.</span><br />'' &nbsp;
