Rajya Sabha today mourned the death of the former Lok Sabha Speaker on Friday. Making an obituary reference, Chairman Mohammed Hamid Ansari said in the passing away of PA Sangma, the country has lost a distinguished Parliamentarian, an able administrator and a dedicated social worker. <br/><br/>He said a Professor, advocate and journalist, Sangma was actively associated with several social organizations and educational institutions. He worked tirelessly for development of the North Eastern region and the upliftment of the downtrodden and weaker sections of the society, especially the tribals. Members observed silence as a mark of respect to the memory of the departed.
