Rajya Sabha functions normally and completes listed business

<span style="color: #222222;">The Rajya Sabha on Wednesday functioned normally and completed listed business except for one adjournment during Question Hour. When the House met for the day, the Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu expressed concern over disruption in the proceedings of the House by the opposition members. The opposition members were raising the issue of suspension to 12 members from the Winter Session of Parliament. Mr. Naidu urged the members to allow the House to take up Zero Hour but the opposition members started sloganeering and some of them trooped into the well. <br />''<br />''The Chair expressed displeasure over their behaviour and said that the opposition members are not allowing the House to function. Mr. Naidu said that he is ready to consider notices about discussion on various issues including farmers but they should first allow the House to function. <br />''<br />''Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge requested the Chair to revoke the suspension of twelve suspended Rajya Sabha MPs. Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu refused to consider it and tried to run the Zero Hour. K.G. Kenye of Nagaland brought to the notice of the House the impunities carried out under Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA). He also mentioned the 4th December killings of civilians in Nagaland during firing. Amid the uproarious scene, the members from various political parties raised their issues during zero hour. Amid protests from Opposition members to revoke suspension of the 12 MPs, Chairman of the Rajya Sabha adjourned the House till 12 noon.<br />''<br />'' When the House reassembled at 12 Noon after the first adjournment, the Deputy Chairman Harivansh started question Hour during which listed questions were asked related to various Ministries. After completing the Question hour, the Chair adjourned the House till 2 PM for lunch. When the House reassembled post lunch, the Rajya Sabah took up the legislative business. </span><br />
