Rajya Sabha Election Results: Three Congress, One BJP Candidate Emerge Victorious in Karnataka

<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;">In Karnataka three Congress and one BJP candidate registered wins in the Rajya Sabha election today. Out of 223 Members in the Legislative Assembly, 222 members exercised their franchise today. According to the Returning officer, Ajay Maken, GC Chandrashekhar and Syed Nasir Hussan from Congress and Narayansa Bandage of BJP have registered the victory. The fifth candidate Kupendra Reddy who contested with support from BJP and JD(S) could not secure the necessary votes.</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br />''</p>''<p style="margin: 0px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #222222;">The 134 Congress MLAs were sufficient to secure victory of three candidates with help from Independents. The BJP with 66 MLAs could secure the win for its candidate. JD(S) with 19 members had sought the help of BJP to ensure victory for Kupendra Reddy. One BJP member Shivaram Hebbar did not cast his vote today and BJP has blamed that its another member S T Someshekhar voted for the Congress candidate.</span></p>
