The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till 2:30 PM today. The House witnessed repeated adjournments in the pre-lunch session following a series of protests by the Congress over three of its MLAs in Gujarat joining BJP ahead of elections to the Council of the States. There was no change in the situation when the House reassembled at 12 noon after two adjournments. <br/><br/>Earlier, as soon as the House met for the day, Anand Sharma of the Congress raised the issue complaining that the ruling party in the state is stealing opposition MLAs by using police force. Responding to this Deputy Chairman P.J. Kurien suggested the Congress to approach Election Commission or the Police. <br/><br/>Not satisfied with the suggestion Congress members trooped into the well raising slogans against the government. Minister of State for Agriculture Parshottam Rupala said it is the internal issue of the Congress and there is no need to complain in the House. <br/><br/>Leader of the Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad said that the Chair can give a directive to the Election Commission to intervene in the matter. <br/><br/>Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said the election to the Upper House is being conducted by the Election Commission and they can approach it
