Rajya Sabha Adjourned till noon

The Rajya Sabha was adjourned till Noon today with Opposition Congress members trooping into the well of the House demanding Prime Minister's presence during debate on demonitisation of high value currency notes. <br/><br/>Anand Sharma of the Congress alleged that government has created financial anarchy in the country by demonetisation. <br/><br/>Sharad Yadav of JD(U) reiterated his demand for payment of compensation to the kith and kin of those who reportedly died of trauma while queuing outside banks and ATMs. <br/><br/>Mayawati of BSP said the situation in the country is grim and the absence of Prime Minister in the House is an insult to democracy. Sitaram Yechury of CPIM said the government is answerable to the House and Parliament is answerable to the people. <br/><br/>Sukhendu Sekhar Ray of Trinamool Congress demanded that Prime Minister should come to the House. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Some of the BJP members shouted slogans that they want the discussion on demonetisation should be resumed. <br/><br/> <br/><br/>

Rajya Sabha adjourned till noon

Raya Sabha Chairman has admitted opposition substantive motions to discuss the political developments in the House on Arunachal Pradesh. Announcing this during zero hour, Deputy Chairman Prof. P J Kurien said only time has to be fixed for discussion. <br/><br/>Earlier, raising the matter Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad demanded the recall of the Governor following Guwahati High Court observations. He said media and the entire country are discussing the Governor's issue. But the House is not able to discuss it.<br/><br/>As soon as the House took up zero hour mentions, Congress members trooped into the well in support of their demand. They raised slogans against the Centre and the Governor. Members belonging to AIADMK, TMC and Left parties protested in their seats. As noisy scenes continued, Prof. Kurien adjourned the House for 20 minutes till Noon.<br/><br/>
