The Rajya Sabha was adjourned for the day today following AIADMK members raising slogans demanding withdrawal of the reported proposal to disinvest Salem Steel Plant in Tamil Nadu. When the House met at 2.30PM after adjournment on demonetisation, Deputy Chairman Prof PJ Kurien took up Private Members' business amidst slogan-shouting by AIADMK members. <br/><br/>At the same time, members of other opposition Parties also raised slogans against Prime Minister. Some BJP members raised counter-slogans in support of the government. <br/><br/>Amidst the din, Prof Kurien adjourned the House till Monday. Earlier, the disinvestment issue was also raised by AIADMK members during Zero Hour.
