It aims to provide for health as a fundamental right to all citizens and to ensure equitable access and maintenance of a standard of physical and mental health. RJD member Prof. Manoj Jha moved this legislation. Speaking on it, Prof. Jha highlighted the importance of the right to health. He said, medical poverty is increasing in the country which shows the failure to provide affordable and accessible health facilities to the common man. Rajani Patil of Congress drew the attention of the House to the poor conditions of government hospitals. Amar Patnaik of BJD said, out of pocket expenditure on health is a matter of concern.&nbsp;<br />'' <br />'' Dr. K Keshava Rao of TRS said, health and education are the prime concern of the people of the country. He urged the government to give more focus on these issues. Participating in the discussion John Brittas of CPI(M) demanded more allocation for the health sector. On the other hand, BJP MP Rakesh Sinha highlighted the works done by Narendra Modi's government to provide affordable healthcare facilities to the people. He also lauded India's Covid management saying that people are safe due to successful Covid vaccination drive.&nbsp; Dr Fauzia Khan of NCP, Ranjeet Ranjan of Congress, and Sanjay Singh of AAP were among those participating in the discussion, However, the discussion remained inconclusive. Before it, several private member Bills were introduced in the House.
