In Jammu and Kashmir, Rajouri town continues to be under curfew for the second day today. The authorities are keeping the Army on stand-by even as the police along with para-military personnel, staged flag marches in different parts of Rajouri town to restore confidence among the people. Curfew was imposed in Rajouri town yesterday morning following eruption of clashes when some unidentified persons pelted stones on a religious procession, forcing police and para-military to resort to teargassing and lathicharge to separate the two groups. According SSP Rajouri, Vijay Singh Samyal, no untoward incident was reported from any part of Rajouri town, adding that the situation was fully under control. Four FIRs have so far been registered in Rajouri police station for fuelling communal passions and attack on religious procession.Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal and IGP Jammu, Dilbagh Singh flew in to Rajouri yesterday and reviewed the situation with senior police officers. They also met prominent citizens and sought their help in restoring peace and tranquillity.
