Rajnath to lay foundation stone of projects to upgrade Gomtinagar railway station

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh will lay the foundation stone of several projects to upgrade Gomtinagar railway station of Lucknow today. Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Minister of State for Railways Manoj Sinha will also be present on the occasion.<br/><br/> An official release said, the cost of various projects to be launched today will be 109 crore rupees. The Gomtinagar railway station will be made world class, equipped with all modern facilities, like elevators, foot over bridge, passenger amenities and latest communication facilities.<br/><br/> This station will also act as a terminal station like Anand Vihar of Delhi. A vast commercial building will also be constructed which will house shops and markets. As of now, there are only three platforms at Gomtinagar station which will be raised to six.
