Rajnath Singh is set to become new BJP President. Party Parliamentary Board held a meeting to take a call on the issue.

Reports say his candidature has been approved by the parlimentary board. Rajnath Singh has been a former National President of the BJP. He has been a former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and also a Cabinet Minister in the NDA regime.

The BJP President Nitin Gadkari resigned from the party post last evening. In a statement issued last night Mr.Gadkari, opted out of the race from the party President.

He said he did not want the allegations against him to adversely affect the interests of the party in any way.
