Rajnath Singh reviews stock of equipment procurement

Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday chaired a meeting to take stock of the status of procurement of essential and critical equipments required for internal and border security operations. <br/><br/>During the meeting held in New Delhi, Mr Singh emphasized that no compromise will be made in adequately equipping the forces. According to an official release, Mr Singh asked the concerned officials to ensure that essential equipment is procured on time. He also directed to explore options of further delegation of powers to the forces and to simplify various steps involved in the process of procurement. <br/><br/>During the meeting, it was decided that reputed academic and professional institutions such as IITs should be involved to assist in building capacity of all concerned in the Ministry and the forces in framing proper request for proposals for timely procurement.
