Rajnath Singh reviews measures to check cyber crime in financial sector

Home Minister Rajnath Singh today reviewed the measures being taken to check the growing trend of cyber crime in the financial sector at a meeting in New Delhi with all concerned agencies and representatives of some States.<br/><br/>The Ministry said, the strategies adopted to check financial cyber crimes were discussed in detail during the meeting. The Home Minister was appraised of the current trends of financial cyber crimes and the steps being taken to address the challenge. Mr Singh emphasized on coordination of all concerned agencies and directed them to undertake required measures in a time bound manner. It was also decided to set up an inter-ministerial committee to identify action points and monitor the implementation. <br/><br/>Capacity Building of various stakeholders such as police and judicial officers, forensic scientists as well as officials in the banking sector has been identified as a key measure to address the situation. It was also decided to expedite the implementation of cyber crime prevention initiatives in these agencies towards this end along with measures required to acquire critical cyber forensics equipment. <br/><br/>The meeting was attended by Union Home Secretary, Secretary Department of Financial Services, Director Intelligence Bureau, Commissioner of Police Delhi and National Cyber Security Coordinator.
