<span style="color: #222222;">Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off a special plogging awareness drive at Delhi Cantonment, today. Plogging is a combination of jogging with picking up litter. Defence Ministry is observing Plastic Se Raksha, Swachhata-Hi-Suraksha at more than 400 locations across the country. The program is aimed at creating awareness among the people to collect plastic waste from the surroundings.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said, over six lakh defence personnel, NCC cadets and students from across the country are participating in the awareness drive. He said, children and students have become the brand ambassadors for cleanliness. Mr. Singh said, cleanliness reflects the smartness of the society. He also said by constructing more than 10 crore house-hold toilets spreading 700 districts, have been declared open defecation-free.  </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">However, the Minister appealed for continuation of the cleanliness drives and awareness programs at all levels. Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Defence Shripada Yesso Naik appealed to the public to adopt environment-friendly practices to reduce the plastic usage in day-to-day life. </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar said his ministry has stopped the single-use plastic. Drinking-Water and Sanitation Secretary Parameswaran Aiyar said Open Defecation Free and Plastic waste management are the key components in swachhata program.  </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Defence personnel, NCC Cadets and students participated in the plogging program and cleaned the places in Delhi Cantonment area.</span><br />''
