Rajiv J Shah set to be named as president of Rockefeller Foundation

Former head of the United States Agency for International Development, USAID, Rajiv J Shah is set to be named as president of the Rockefeller Foundation, one of America's largest and most influential philanthropies. <br/><br/>Succeeding Judith Rodin, who has been the foundation's president for 12 years, Shah will be the youngest person and the first Indian-American to lead the group. With advanced degrees in medicine and health finance from University of Pennsylvania, Mr Shah was associated with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for nearly a decade. From 2009 to 2015, he ran USAID.<br/><br/>The Rockefeller foundation, set up in 1913 by the oil tycoon John D Rockefeller, donates 200 million US Dollars each year towards improving health and well-being in Africa, aiding economic development in impoverished areas and developing strategies to combat climate change.
