Rajiv Gandhi assassination case: SC asks Centre to decide on TN govt's letter on remission

The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to take a decision within three months on a letter of Tamil Nadu government, seeking the release of seven convicts in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. <br/><br/>A bench, headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi, was yesterday hearing an application of the convicts that said the state government had decided to release them but was waiting for the Centre's nod, as required by a court order. The Tamil Nadu government had written the letter in this regard in March, 2016.<br/><br/>
