<span style="color: #222222;">The Madras High Court has declined to entertain a petition by a convict in the former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's assassination case for directing the Governor to release her. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">A Division Bench of the High Court has said, the law gives the Governor complete immunity in discharge of his constitutional obligations.<br />'' <br />'' One of the seven life convicts in the case, Nalini Sriharan, filed the petition seeking direction to the Governor to act on the state Council of Ministers recommendation in September last year for their premature release. </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">However, the Bench comprising Justices R.Subbiah and C.Saravanan said the privilege and immunity conferred on the Governor under Article-361 is a clear bar on the petitioner to file the petition.</span><br />''  <br />
