Rajinikanth announces his entry into politics

In Tamil Nadu, the popular film actor Rajinikanth has formally announced that he will enter politics. <br/><br/>Addressing his fans in Chennai today, he said, he will float a party and field his candidates in all 234 constituencies in Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. <br/><br/>Rajinikant said his political plank wwill be based on spirituality. He said his party will not contest the forthcoming civic polls for want of time. However, he said his stand on the Lok Sabha polls will be made clear when the elections are announced. <br/><br/>Rajinikanth made the announcement at the end of his three-day interaction with his fans in Chennai in which he posed with about 6000 people. <br/><br/>AIR correspondent reports that the Tamil matinee idol Rajinikanth's cinema dialogue used to be interspersed with punch dialogues with political implications. It led his thousands of fans to believe that he would take a plunge into politics. <br/><br/>After years of perceived reluctance, he has finally made it clear to his fans that he is into politics. His new political role has being cautiously welcomed by major political parties in Tamil Nadu. <br/><br/>The AIADMK coordinator O.Panneerselvam has said everyone has the right to come to politics in a democratic country. <br/><br/>The DMK working president MK Stalin has welcomed his political entry saying, the DMK never feels threatened as it is a principle-based political movement. <br/><br/>The BJP leader and Union Minister Pon. Radhakrishnan has also welcomed Rajinikanth's entry into politics. <br/><br/>Critics say he has not revealed any idea about his new party's principles, goals or party name and, did not mention anything about meeting the people.
