Rajasthan to implement Food Security Act today

Rajasthan will implement Food Security Act on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti today. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will launch the scheme from Nagaur. Rajasthan is the fourth state after Harayana, Delhi and Uttarakhand to launch the scheme.

AIR correspondent reports, 1, 10, 99000 families will get 5 kg Wheat at Rs. 2 per kg., Bajra at Rs. 1 per Kg. and Rice at Rs. 3 per Kg. rate per month in the state .

5,1600000 people will be benefited with this scheme. The Central Government has allocated extra 41684 metric tonnes food grains for this scheme to Rajasthan.

BPL families, Students residing in government Hostels, Small and Marginal Farmers, Laborers and Senior Citizens will be covered under food security scheme.

The Chief Minister said that 2000 new Ration Shops will be opened for this purpose and initially Food Coupons will be provided for 6 months to beneficiaries of this Scheme. Persons from Saharia and Kathodi Tribes will continue to get Wheat on 1 Rs. per Kg. rate.

The state Government announced to free dialysis facility from today to patients in government hospitals under Mukhyamantri Nishulk Janch Yojna. 70 types of diagnosis will be made free of cost in medical colleges and district hospitals.
