Indian Premier League cricket team Rajasthan Royals' owner Raj Kundra today admitted to the Delhi Police that he had placed bets on his own team. Talking to reporters Delhi Police commissioner Neeraj Kumar said, Raj Kundra was called for questioning as the police got to know that he was involved in betting. He said, Umesh Goenka was the bookie through whom Raj Kundra placed the bets. Delhi police commissioner also said, Raj Kundra has lost a lot of money on the bets that he made.
Meanwhile, Raj Kundra's passport has been seized by Delhi Police who questioned him for about 10 hours in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scandal and allegations on betting. The Police have asked Kundra not to leave the country. Police had also questioned Kundra's business partner and friend Umesh Goenka. The name of Goenka, with whom Kundra owns a company dealing in steel business, had come up during the recording of statement of Rajasthan Royal player Sidharth Trivedi, a prosecution witness in the case.
