Rajasthan govt. to plead reservation case in Court

In Rajasthan, the state government has decided to plead the reservation case in Rajasthan High Court on Wednesday, in wake of the ongoing Gujjar agitation. The High Court a few months back had stayed the Rajasthan government's decision to provide five per cent reservation to Specially Back Classes, SBCs including Gujjars, on the plea that total quota in the state has exceeded the fifty per cent limit. The agitating Gujjars are demanding the implementation of this five per cent quota to SBCs immediately, so that, the Gujjars could get benefit of the current recruitments initiated by the government. Meanwhile, hundreds of Gujjar activists led by Col. Kirodi Singh Bainsla are still sitting on rail track in Pilupura village of Bharatpur district. The Delhi-Mumbai rail traffic has been badly affected following the agitation. More than 22 trains of West Central Railway and 8 of North Western Railway have either been diverted or canelled. Road traffic between Bayana Hindaun and Karauli-Hindaun has also been blocked. Rajasthan Roadways has suspended its bus services on this route. The state government has deployed five senior officers in Karauli to keep a watch on the law and order situation.
