Rajasthan govt. recruits 1000 new doctors to improve medical services

In Rajasthan, the medical services in Government hospitals hit by the Doctor’s strike are likely to improve from Tuesday as the Medical University has recruited one thousand new doctors. The newly recruited doctors will start taking charge from Tuesday. The National Rural Health Mission contractual doctors and employees also called off their strike today which could improve the medical services in the rural areas.

The in-service and residents doctors strike continued for the sixth day on Monday following which the government made every effort to maintain services in hospitals.

Private Doctors and hospitals are also assisting the doctors in a big way. Meanwhile, the President of Senior Resident Doctors Association Dr, Rajvendra Chowdhary has been dismissed from service. Nearly 400 Doctors have been arrested under RESMA and 40 doctors have been suspended so far, for dereliction of duty.
