Rajasthan govt. imposes ban on employees' rally

In Rajasthan, the state government has imposed ban on rallies, demonstrations and dharnas by any section of the employees on the issue of reservation in promotion. This ban will be in force for 90 days. The home department has also issued instructions not to grant leave to any employee today, barring some exceptional circumstances. These decisions have been taken in wake of the proposed ‘Warning Rally’ by a section of the employees in Jaipur today to press the demand of implementing reservation in promotions with prospective effect in light of Supreme Court’s order. Later, the employees organization called off the rally in view of the fresh developments. The Home Minister Mr. Shanti Dhariwal said that the decision has been taken to avoid conflict between the pro and anti reservation groups of employees. He assured that government will soon come with a judicious solution to the problem.
