Rajasthan govt gives Rs 200 cr relief package to farmers

The Rajasthan Government has announced 200 Crore rupee Relief package to farmers whose crops were damaged due to frost and cold wave. The decision was taken at a meeting of State Calamity Management Authority in Jaipur last night presided over by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.This relief will be given to farmers whose 50 per cent or more crop was damaged during Rabi season.Electricity bills of four months will also be waved off for these farmers and in villages where more than 50 per cent damage was reported, recovery of land revenue will be deferred. Short term agriculture loan will also be converted in to medium term in affected villages. Churu,Bikaner,Dausa and Jaisalmer are the most affected districts with cold wave and frost.
