The Rajasthan government has given approval for providing 750 crore rupees for the development of the repairable roads of the state highways. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot directed to identify repairable roads of state highways in all districts and take up the renovation works .The decision has taken in the meeting of the Council of Ministers at Jaipur on Wednesday. It was informed in the meeting that the PWD has prepared an ambitious scheme for construction of the 16 Mega Highways. Under the scheme 2959 kilometer roads of two lanes/ two lanes would be constructed which would cost 3698 crore rupees. The Council of Ministers also discussed the scheme to provide all medicines free of cost in all government hospitals from 2nd Oct. For the implementation of the scheme the Rajasthan Medical Services Corporation has been constituted and a centralized purchasing system has been developed. Total 13, 874 free medicine distribution centres would be set up in all government hospital. Through these centres 352 types of medicines and 68 things used for medical purpose would be made available. The Council of Ministers also gave approval to the interim report of the 4th State Finance Commission. According to the recommendations made by the Commission the state government would transfer the part of the net taxes of the state in fixed percentage to the Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies. The Council of Ministers has authorized the Chief Minister to get the seventh session of the 13th Assembly convened.
