Medium to heavy rain has recorded in many parts of Rajasthan today. At Sayla in Jalor distt maximum 10.4 cm rain has recorded while 3 to 9 cm rain has recorded at various places in western,northern and eastern parts of the state. According to Jaipur met office rain will be continued for next 4 to 5 days.Our correspondent reports that this year 18 districts have received normal rain fall so far while excess rain has recorded in Banswara,Dungarpur,Pratapgarh and Ajmer distts.Monsoon is active in entire state and moderate to heavy rain has recorded at many places today.due to continuous rain in western desert districts many dams and ponds are now filled with water.According to recent data released from water resources department only 11 districts are in deficit rainfall category but rain is continuing in these distts also and it is assumed that they will also came into normal rain category in next 2-3 days.72 out of 724 small and medium dams in the state are filled while 381 are partially filled ,Panchna the biggest dam of eastern rajasthan is in overflow situation. North western railway has cancelled 2 trains on Pali -Marwar meterguage section due to heavy rain and rock sliding.Restoration work is going on to resume rail service.According to met office heavy rain may occur at few places in the state in next 24 hours.
