Rajasthan, Bihar reduces fuel price

The Rajasthan government has decided to reduce the prices of LPG gas, diesel and Kerosene. The decision was taken last night in a meeting of the state Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The state government will give 25 rupees subsidy per cylinder and will not charge VAT on recent hike on diesel prices, making it cheaper by 54 paise per liter. AIR correspondent reports that the decision will come into effect immediately and will cost the state exchequer 375 crore rupees. The Bihar government has taken decision to reduce the prices of diesel by 14 paise per litre. The Vat on diesel has been reduced from 18.36 to 18 per cent. The Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi said, the token reduction in VAT is only a symbolic gesture on the part of the state government to help the masses.
