Rajasthan Assembly’s Budget session begins

Budget session of Rajasthan Assembly began in Jaipur today. Addressing the House, Governor Shivraj Patil stressed on the need of new law to check over exploitation of ground water. He said, this problem will adversely affect the development of the state. He said that the government has started various drinking water schemes worth 12, 884 crore rupees and drip – irrigation has been made compulsory in Narmada canal area. Mr Patil said that the government is committed to providing transparent and responsible administration and various schemes are being implemented for welfare of children, women, minorities and weaker sections of society. He announced that state government will provide one lakh new jobs this year.
