In Rajasthan, 45 thousand women of Aajeevika Mission will become Suraksha sakhi of State Police. This is an innovative initiative taken by Rajasthan Police with the help of Rural Livelihood Mission for empowerment of women in the state.<br />'' <br />'' With the efforts of Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sunita Meena and Mission Director Manju Rajpal so far about 13000 Suraksha sakhis have been recruited by the state police. About 3500 of them are recruited in Jaipur itself.<br />'' <br />'' Sunita Meena said, Suraksha Sakhi is a kind of community police; this will help to prevent crimes against women and girl child. She said, any women can volunteer to join this yojna.<br />'' <br />'' She said, many times there are women and girl child who are victims of different kinds of violence and other crimes that don't come to police stations to seek help because of some kind of fear or hesitation. Now Suraksha Sakis will act as a bridge between them and the police.<br />''<br />''Additional Deputy Commissioner said, police is planning to take this scheme to remote rural areas also so that every woman and girl child can benefit from this scheme.
