Rajapaksa returns after Nepal visit

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa today returned home by a special plane after completing his three day visit to Nepal.<br/>Talking to reporters at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, President Rajapaksa said that he found Nepal's progress of the peace process rather critical, but expressed hope that it would be concluded successfully as all the leaders whom he met during his stay in Kathmandu expressed their commitment to peace and stability in the country.<br/>During his stay in Nepal, President Rajapaksa visited Buddhist pilgrimage destination – Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha and inaugurated a new Buddhist monastery constructed by the Sri Lankan government and offered prayers at Mahadevi temple. He met Nepal’s President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala and leaders of different political parties.<br/>
