The crime branch arrested Paulson Joseph, a close associate of fugitive underworld don Chhota Rajan, in Mumbai on Monday for his alleged involvement in the killing of senior journalist J Dey. Joint Police Commissioner (Crime) Himanshu Roy said that Paulson Joseph was apprehended from Chembur area.
He would be produced before a local court on Monday. He said Joseph was instrumental in providing logistical support to Dey’s killers. Roy said the shooters, who were earlier arrested in the case, had got SIM cards from him. These SIM cards with fake names were used while executing the crime. Roy said ten persons, including Joseph and cricket bookie Vinod Ashrani alias Vinod Chembur have been arrested in connection with the murder so far. Dey, working with the Mumbai-based English tabloid MidDay, was shot dead on 11th of June in Hiranandani area of suburban Powai.
