In Tamil Nadu, a 1000-year old statue of Raja Raja Chola was found during repair work at the famous Brahadeeswarar temple in Thanjavur. An Archeaological Surevey of India official said that the 1.5 foot tall statue was found by workers while they were cleaning and repairing the right side of the temple wall ahead of the 1000th year celebrations on September 24 and 26. Brahadeeswarar temple is also known as the Big Temple.
