Raj Kundra admits to betting in IPL, BCCI to discuss issue in emergency working committee meet on Monday

Delhi Police today claimed that Rajasthan Royals owner Raj Kundra placed bets on his team through a bookie-friend in the IPL matches. Police sources said, they are also probing whether his actress wife Shilpa Shetty was involved in betting. Sources said, during interrogation Kundra admitted loss of around one crore rupees in the past three years in betting in IPL matches. Earlier, talking to reporters Delhi Police commissioner Neeraj Kumar said that Kundra was called for questioning as the police got to know that he was involved in betting. He said, Umesh Goenka was the bookie through whom Raj Kundra placed the bets.

Meanwhile, Raj Kundra's passport has been seized by Delhi Police which questioned him for about 10 hours in connection with the IPL spot-fixing scandal and allegations on betting. The Police have asked Kundra not to leave the country.

Rattled by betting charges against Rajasthan Royals co-owner Raj Kundra, the BCCI today forced to convene an Emergency Working Committee meeting on June 10 in New Delhi.

Addressing a press conference in Kolkata today, the BCCI Working Group's chief Jagmohan Dalmiya said the entire issue of Raj Kundra's alleged involvement in betting will come up for discussion at the meeting.
