Raipur- Jagdalpur Highway continues to be cut off

In Chhattisgarh, the National Highway 43 connecting Raipur with Jagdalpur continues to be cut off due to floods due to rain water and overflowing bridges. Many vehicles on either side of the NH have been stranded. The Bastar region of the state received about 60 millimeter of rainfall during the last night, which has snapped road communications between many places. The water from the rising Indravati river has also affected normal life in many villages. The district administration has opened a number of relief and rehabilitation camps, even in rural areas to evacuate the flood affected people in the district.
