In Tamilnadu, rains will continue in many coastal districts as the trough of low pressure extending from Gulf of Mannar to West Central Bay off Tamilnadu and South Andhra Pradesh coast persists.<br/><br/>The district administration of Chidambaram and Kattumannar kovil have declared a holiday for schools today.<br/><br/>The heavy showers during the past few days have contributed to increase in seasonal rainfall in the city, recording 816 mm rains, which is 95 mm above average since October<br/>1.<br/><br/>The Agriculture department officials say that samba yield in the current year will be normal because of the timely rain in the State especially in delta districts.<br/>Though parts of the State received heavy spell during the north east monsoon, the recent rain has been by and large beneficial for standing paddy crop.<br/><br/>Storage in majority of reservoirs and tanks in the State is sufficient to meet irrigation requirements for the rest of the season.<br/><br/>
