Heavy rain continues to lash several parts of Uttar Pradesh resulting in further rise of level of rivers including Ganga, Ramganga, Sharda, Yamuna and Ghaghra. The river Ghaghra is flowing above the danger mark in Barabanki and Ayodhya with rising trend. AIR correspondent quoting met office reports that six to ten centimetres of rainfall has occurred in Moradabad, Bareilly, Faizabad and Gorakhpur divisions during last 24 hours. ‘The city dwellers are facing hardship due to water logging and filth in low lying areas. The traffic snarl has occurred in several places due to uprooting of trees and electric poles. The monsoon is active in central, western and Terai regions. More than 300 hundred villages have become affected in Farrukhabad, Pilibhit, Barabanki, Gonda and Lakhimpur Kheri. The people of the affected areas have taken shelter at higher places.
