The Bastar division of Chhattisgarh has once again come under the impact of incessant rains during the last couple of days. Many of the rivers in Bastar including river Indrabati are flowing to their brims which has created almost a flood like situation in many villages, particularly in the Narayanpur district of the state. More than 100 are reeling under the impact of flood . The district administration has been carrying relief and rescue operations in the affected areas. It has also been reported that at least 5 persons were carried away in the gushing waters , out of whom the body of one has been recovered. On the other hand, life in the adjoining Kanker district has been returning to normal after incessant rains during the last three days. The surging waters of the river Mahanadi has however caused a sizable damage to some roads and culverts in the district. Standing crop of about 50 river-side villages in the district has also been affected due to the flood waters.
