Rains fail for 6th successive season in East Africa

The aid agency, OXFAM says rains have failed for a sixth successive season in many parts of East Africa forcing millions of people into further hardship. The group says some areas have received less than 5 per cent of their normal rainfall in November.<br/><br/>Some 20 million people face starvation in vast areas of Kenya, Somalia and Ethiopia, the UN has already warned.<br/><br/>The crisis is most severe in parts of Somalia, where worsening conflict and the drought have left 3.6 million people – a third of the country's population – in need of aid.<br/>
