In Uttarakhand normal life has been disrupted due to incessant rain. About hundred houses were damaged due to landslide and heavy rain during last two days. Chardham yaatra marg and some other highways and many link roads are still blocked in Garhwal region of the state. Met department has predicted heavy rain may occur at isolated places in next 24 hours especially in Garhwal region.AIR correspondent Raghvesh Pandey reports from Dehradun that life has been badly hit due to continuous rain since last 40 hours at different parts of the state especially in hilly areas of Garhwal. Supply of essential commodities to remote areas has been also affected because of road blockage. There is also a shortage of cooking gas, kerosene oil, milk etc in the hilly areas. People are facing problems. Pilgrims are also stranded at various places in chamoli, Uttarkashi and Rudraprayag. Apart from this there is an outbreak of diseases particularly in Tarai region of Kumaon division and state capital Dehradun caused by water logging. Health department teams are carrying out health surveys check up and distributing free medicines. Meanwhile two people have reported died of diarrhoea in Ranikhet, whereas three people have been dead because of dengue and high fever over the last one week in Kumaon.
