In Uttarakhand, continuous rains have badly effected the road communication in hill areas. As per reports, many villages in Pithouragarh and Chamoli districts have been cut off from their district headquarters. Met department predicts more rain in next 24 hours.National highway leading to Himalayan shrines of Gangotree has been again hit by fresh landslides between Dharasu and Nalu Pani following rains leaving hundreds of pilgrims stranded.Beside this, vehicular traffic on Badree Nath and Kedar Nath routs have also been affected because of frequent landslides due to intermittent rains in Garhwal region.However, in Kumanu division of the state, Naineetal — Betal Ghat road and some other link roads in Border district of Pithouragah have also been closed due to landslides. Efforts are on to clear the debris and reopen it for traffic. As per reports rain continues in different parts of the state.According to Met Department Director Anand Sharma, moderate to rather heavy rain may occur in coming hours especially in Garhwal region.
