Heavy and incessant rain washed out the first One day international cricket match between Sri Lanka and New Zealand at Pallekele stadium in Kandy without a ball being bowled. Rain had also forced the abandonment of the 20-20 match between the two countries on Tuesday. The second one day will be played in Colombo on Sunday.
