Rain plays spoilsport, India at 50/2 on Day 1

Rain played spoilsport as the first day's play of the third Test between India and Sri Lanka at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo was called off early, with just about one hour's play possible. India were 50 for two when rain interrupted play before lunch. Cheteshwar Pujara at 19 and skipper Virat Kohli at 14 were at the crease after 15 overs of play. Umpires Rod Tucker and Nigel Long had one final inspection at 1530 hours and ruled out any further play for the day. Earlier, India lost opener Lokesh Rahul (2) and Ajinkya Rahane (8) cheaply.
