Rain led road blockages affect over 50% population in Uttarakhand

More than fifty percent population of Uttarakhand has been affected due to the road blockages following heavy rains in the state. The residents are also facing crisis of essential commodities. Meanwhile, rains still continue at various parts of the state.AIR correspondent reports, according to officials, almost all the National Highways were closed due to landslides at different places rains continued for second consecutive day on Thursday. As per reports, supply of essential commodities and petroleum products has been badly hit. Residents of Chamoli, Champawat, Pithoragarh and Almora districts are facing power crisis. Water supply in these areas has also been disrupted. Officials claim that repair works of roads are in progress but will take some time before it gets completed
